Ahhhh, but we know at least 2-3% of America know WHO is more important…Those are the families of the 1 percent who are protecting, fighting for and serving our great nation. I am proud to be part of that percentage…
I skim over those parts of the news. I have more urgent news to find. Like what’s going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, and all the other hot spots of our world.
As for those that think otherwise, SUCKS TO BE THEM!
or better yet, “I pity those poor fools”.
This came up the other day on Fox News . Montel Williams was a guest of the early morning Fox and Friends Show. They asked him for his reaction and thoughts on Heath Ledgers death. He said he didn’t know Heath and basically wasn’t interested in the details. I could see him trying to contain his anger as he talked about the fact that he has to search to find the names and stories of those who have been lost in the war. He was furious about the fact that no attention is given to these heroes. The defensive responses he got from the hosts of the show made me want to scream. They were trying to tell him that it is “what the public wants to hear” . That only made him more determined to make his point. He let them know loud and clear that the people we should be hearing about and want to remember and honor our those who gave all.

People in general are fascinated by those who act for a living, which isn’t a noble, selfless or courageous calling. I guess people feel they “know” celebrities, which explains the grandiose attention.
This site is a collection of my writings, thoughts, and ramblings and in no way reflects the official positions of the United States Army or the Department of Defense. OPSEC trumps everything.

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book.

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
