Some of you may remember that show, and some of you may remember this blog. Not sure about Kotter, but I’m back. Things have been pretty damned busy around here to say the least. I’ll start with a couple of administrative notes and then let the blogging begin.
First and foremost, a HUGE Thank You to all who helped make my trip to the Milblog Conference 2007 a reality. I was very glad to not only attend, but be a part of it as well. Andi has a pretty good line up of the events of the weekend here, and I’ve provided coverage of the conference over at You Served. Not to worry, I will put up a behind the scenes post here at Sgt Hook this weekend so stay tuned.
Many of you have emailed and I apologize if I’ve not yet responded. I will try to set some time aside to reply to as many as I can this weekend.
Some of you have left comments that did not get posted and were concerned. Please understand that I get hundreds of spam comments a week and the outstanding software Askimet traps 99% of them in a moderation que that I must manually go in and approve or disapprove. Again my apologies for the lag in approving your comments. I think that I’ve gotten to them all, but if I missed you, I am sorry, it was not intentional.
The Army has published an updated regulation regarding OPSEC that specifically addresses electronic media (read blogs and myspace). I’ve read it and discussed it and think that all’s well but please keep in mind that there is a need for regulations in the military and an even greater need to protect our men and women serving in harm’s way and OPSEC will trump even Sgt Hook.
Lastly, it is good to be back and hope to hear the sounds of my thoughts pecking away at the keyboard more regularly. Thank you all for your patience. Sgt Hook out.
