It seems our esteemed elected representatives in the District of Columbia have emerged from a weeklong debate with a very powerful message to our Commander In Chief.

“Today, in a loud voice, the Congress of the United States said to the president: ‘We need a new direction in Iraq,’” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., after the 246-182 vote.

I agree. And I believe that the President himself recently said the very same thing and after consulting with his top military advisors, is indeed pursuing a new direction in Iraq, one headed towards victory. I suspect that many of the aforementioned esteemed elected representatives are thinking of a different direction, however; the word retreat comes to mind.

And oh by the way, the escalation surge reinforcements change in tactics seem to be already paying dividends in Baghdad. Imagine what will happen if when we get the 21,000 more troops over there.

I think the following quote from one of my all-time favorite writers sums it up nicely…

Grit. I think America has lost it.

Sgt Hook out.

  1. I think today’s debacle is the most cowardly POS I’ve ever seen in my liftime. I really don’t think Pres. Bush needed a resolution to tell him they don’t approve of anything he does. When I saw the gavel-wielding Pelosi make the announcement and saw the little smirk she gave to try to stifle her smile, I just wanted to take a baseball bat to my TV. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite us all. I’m too mad to think about this and still sleep tonight!

  2. I agree with you, Miss Birdlegs. Not only is Pusillanimous Pelosi not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, she and her fellow cowards in the House of Representatives have taken a deeply seditious action against the country that nourishes her and the soldiers that protect her. Check out the word ’sedition’ on Google and click on the Wikipedia entry. The description fits them to a T. What disgrace will they perpetrate next?

  4. You have of course heard of “fair weathered friends”, those lacking the fortitude to stand when required, but instead slither away like the spinal challenged sub-organisms they are. Our country is currently afflicted with a fair weathered congress.
That odor emanating from Capitol is probably fecal emissions, soiling the pants of those cowardly, sub-standard congress cretins who voted against America on this cowardly resolution.
If America doesn’t wise up and call these cowards to task for their transgressions, I am afraid of the implications for our Nation.

  5. We can resolve any conflict in the blink of the eye. Have they now forced us to this? The sorting of good from bad takes time, which you folks in harm’s way have now been denied. Which of our generals would submit a plan for victory with similar real time constraints? When the next attack comes, the world can very really fear the hysteria heard from this mommy state. And it seems that is what the enemy has wanted all along.

  6. Join Gathering of Eagles on 3/17 in DC, if possible. The movement has now begun to take back our country. It starts with protecting the Wall and other memorials from the “terrorists” not the “peaceful” anti-war protesters. Once secured, a counter march is planned. It’s time for action and not words!! Since the dimwits go with whichever way the finger in the wind goes, the silent majority just might change their direction. Optimistic, I know. Yet this is the country I love and I need to believe we, the patriots, can change the direction they’re taking us.

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book. -Ernest Hemingway

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
