I’ve ’bout had it with the political bullshit flowing from the halls of our Senate. Howinthehell can the same group of esteemed senators pass a resolution denouncin’ the Commander in Chief’s efforts to win this gottdamned war while unanimously votin’ to confirm General Petraeus as the new commander in Iraq?

When are we gonna stop worryin’ ’bout gettin’ elected and start worryin’ about winnin? If our elected reps don’t start servin’ our nation instead of themselves, we’ll lose our damn nation!

Against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

  2. Can we say Parrot? All he did was parott what Bush said on his interview on NPR (which was so uncomfortable to listen to the moron stumble through it, I eventually turned it off).
This “politcal bullshit” is called demoocracy in action. Hey jarheads - this country isn’t under military rule, so get over it. This “war” in Iraw is costing too many lives, too much time and too much money that all could be better utilized in that other war, you know, the war on terror.

  3. All congressional races should have the slogan, “anyone but the incumbent.” I’m confident you if you get a bunch of farmers from Kansas, a small business owner from Iowa, and a housewife from Texas in the Congress, things would CHANGE and fast! And none of us would want to be re-elected, so you’d get a new bunch in easily the next time!

  4. Misosoup, it may not be ladylike of me to say so, but I think you’re talking pernicious and illogical rubbish. The Senate’s efforts to serve themselves [hoping to get re-elected] before serving their country is truly disgusting. And, Drill Sgt., good on you for your brief and telling statement. And thank you once more for protecting us who are too old and too fragile to protect ourselves.

  5. Misosoup - You are in a great state of denial - as is the rest of your ilk. Your use of the term “jarhead” is insulting and you should be b*tchslapped for using it. Unless you are a Marine, of course. You obviously are against our military and, it would seem, our country. Why don’t you open up that closed mind of yours and see the reality - the war on terror is being fought in Iraq. Quit buying the party line and read what’s really going on over there.

  6. Yup, there is the old “if your not for the war, you are against the troops” argument. Only in your black ad white GOP induced Fox News world does that argument work.

Marianne Matthews - you are morein danger of losing your health with the Bush perscription drug plan draining you of all your money. You are more in danger of being attacked by a group of thugs in your own neighborhood because the Bush Administration wants to further slash tehe federal budget funding to local law enforcement agencies. You are more in danger of getting sick off of a bad druge because the Buush Administration ad the rest of the GOP decied to add a line in the Ptriot Act that protects pharmecuticals from being sued over bad drugs causing harm to people.

You people have this “we need to be protected from the terrorists” yet you have no idea that .001 percent of all americans have ever died from a terrorist attack. And to think that we are better proteted because we are fighting with no direction in a country that is in shambles is just plain assinine. We are more at risk from the things I mentioned above than from terrorists who already live in this country as we speak. We are fighting a war in a country who never attacked us and not one of the terrorists on 9-11 was iraqi.

I am very appreciative that we have amilitary ready to fight without question if we ask them to. Sticking stupid yllow ribbon car magnets on your SUV’s and “support our troops” bumoper stickers doesn’t make you a patriot. You want to honor these mend and women willing to die without question? Then don’t put them into harms way for no reason or for reason that are financial windfalls for the Bechtels and Haliburtons.

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book. -Ernest Hemingway

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
