Our Soldier’s Angels have never let the troops down, now let’s not let SA down.

Pasadena, CA (PRWeb) January 26, 2007 — Very soon, as more of U.S. troops will be deployed, or redeployed, in the Global War on Terror, Soldiers’ Angels mission becomes even more critical. SA has never let the troops down, but now, more than ever, it needs help from Americans.

Soldiers’ Angels has sent over 100,000 packages and countless letters to our troops since it began in 2003. Patti Patton-Bader was inspired to found Soldier’s Angels when her son wrote home from Iraq, expressing his concern that some soldiers did not receive any mail or support from home. Within a few short months Soldiers’ Angels had grown from a mother writing a few extra letters, to an Internet Community with tens of thousands of angels worldwide.

SGT. Michael Kelley, from IL, has been serving in Iraq since last May:

“As a soldier deployed overseas, I was adopted into the Soldiers’ Angels Program. I have not only received valuable moral and emotional support and encouragement, but I have also received care packages. For me on the front lines, this support is absolutely critical. It shows that we are not forgotten or uncared for. They are essential to those they touch to keeping morale high in the deployed areas. Thank you Soldiers’ Angels!”

If all predictions hold true, there will be 20,000 extra soldiers just like SGT Kelley. Whether or not you support the war, they are over there making sacrifices for the American People and they need our support.

To support him and all our troops, SA needs your help. Will you adopt a soldier? Will you write letters? Soldiers Angels has many teams in many areas to fulfill our mission statement. If you don’t have the time to adopt or join a specialized team, how about making a much needed donation? Every cent raised goes straight into filling the soldiers’ needs. We need you. Our soldiers need you. Please help, visit www.soldiersangels.org to sign up or make a donation.

Soldiers’ Angels is an all-volunteer, 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the support of the brave men and women deployed in support of the War on Terror in Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever we fly the flag of the United States of America.

If you would like more information about this topic or to schedule an interview with Patti Patton-Bader, please call her at 615-676-0239.

I know that I will be turning to these Angels to help take care of my Soldiers later this year when we head to the sandbox. Let’s get the word out and help recruit more Soldier’s Angles lest we burn out the handful of Angels we have now…

Sgt Hook out.

  4. It’s the Black Jack that made her shed her clothes, I’ll bet. Funny, I’ve never seen a SA pic quite like that one… :)

  5. Thanks for the shout out about Soldiers Angels-don’t want our heroes thinking the angel pix is necessarily representational but we DO get out LOTS of letters, care packages and cookies to our deployed heroes even if some of us are lil’ old Army moms - and look like it LOL :-) There is something for every schedule and financial situation. We do need angels to sign up and offer to support a hero throughout their deployment but if you can’t adopt, and you have 37 cents a week for a stamp you can join our letter writing team. Check out soldiersangels.org for more info and thanks again Sgt. Hook, for getting the word out!

  7. Sgt. Hook thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It is because of people like you and your web site that helps us become a successful organization. We have just past our 105,000th (give or take a few thousand) soldier adoption since we began. We have been able to help over 50,000 units with requests and donated over 500 laptops with voice controlled software for our heroes who have lost the use of a limb and this is all possible because of the kindness and generousity of people like you and your readers. God Bless you and God Bless our Troops!

  8. Thanks SGT Hook… It’s an honor to have your support. It’s our honor to help all our Heroes. As you said, it’s not about being for or against the war; it’s about being for our Heroes who support our freedom. We love them all! May God keep them safe until they all come home, bless you for helping spread the word and bless America!

  11. Sgt Hook, thanks for the post! It doesn’t matter if you support the war…SUPPORT THE WARRIOR!!!

  12. Thank you so much Sgt. Hook. It is always so great to hear that what we do is helping to make a difference. Every soldier, sailor, airmen and marine deserves an angel. I’m just very blessed to be apart of it and able to do my part. Us Angels have wings that spread the world wide and each of us is only but a feather in those wings. And we can never have enough angel feathers to fill those Angel wings. :)

  15. Thank you Hook.
Please let us know when you deploy,
Have phone cards and lip balm and sandscarves at the ready,
also thousands and thousands of Angels! It is only with our collaborative efforts can we hope to help our heroes. All are needed.
    May God Bless Our Troops!

  16. Thanks Sgt. Hook…it’s knowing we make a difference that warms the heart and keeps us going. As long as men and women are deployed we angels will keep going the distance to show our support and help keep the troops feeling loved the best we can. I love being an angel and even more so I love our troops for all they do for our country.

    Hugs and prayers! SA Peggy

  17. Thank you so much for those kind words and for your services and sacrifices! I am from a military family and my brother did 2 tours in Iraq, my husband is currently in Afghanistan. I have always supported the troops but since joining Soldier’s Angels and being in contact with so many of the deployed soldiers and Marines my life has changed significantly. I am so honored to be a part of this, to let all of our troops know they are not alone out there and that people back home do care and support them. Not a day goes by that they are not in my thoughts and they are always in my heart. May no soldier feel they are alone in this world!!

  18. I’m pretty sure I’d never burn out as a Soldiers’ Angel. There are days I feel tired and don’t want to do my daily letters, but all I have to do is remember soldiers like you and all the sacrifices you make for us and I’m not so tired anymore.

  19. Thanks For Your support Sgt.Hook.
I am proud to say that I am a recently joined SA. Writing is the way to share, and provide what we can. What counts most is that our people need us there with them, through thick and thin, sometimes knowing that someone cares makes all the difference. And yes, I care…Blessings to you all from a New York Angel…

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
