2 January 2007

On the eve of the new year we received our first snowfall of the season. Castaway Conner, my 5-year old dashing corsair experienced snow for the first time in his life and suffice to say, I had to drag him in from the snow late into the evening. He and his brothers had a blast, as did our 1-year old puppy who also experienced snow for the first time; she went nuts chasing the falling flakes while making tracks in those that had accumulated.

I enjoyed it myself, having grown up in the northeast. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…. Sgt Hook out.

  1. Sounds like such fun! Glad Castaway Conner and the rest of you boys got a chance to play in it. When we lived further north, we had one pup who loved to run in the snow never wanting to come inside & one who looked as if he was tiptoeing to keep from stepping in it - never wanting to go out.

  2. I’m jealous, we only had 1 snowfall this year. Enjoy, there is nothing more fun than watching kids and puppies in the snow!

  3. Wait. How did I miss this whole ‘puppy’ thing? You have four boys AND a puppy? Holy crap. You need to add Saintly to that wonderful list of adjectives when you describe your ever lovin’ wife. My three boys keep asking for a dog and I keep saying, “NO MORE HEART BEATS IN THIS HOUSE!” and when they switch to having a puppy, I say, “NO MORE BABY MAMMALS!” I’m done with that whole potty training thing. Wow.

Oh. Happy New Year! (My boys have never seen snow…)

  4. The Collective are still waiting for snow, and kept asking “when is it going to snow?” on Christmas

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
