With all due respect to the young lady from Michigan, someone somewhere along the way should have pointed out to her and Rep Knollenberg that May is National Military Appreciation Month, and May 20, 2006 is Armed Forces Day. See the following websites:
http://www.defenselink.mil/afd/
http://www.nmam.org/
By the House of Representatives approving the resolution designating March 26, 2006 as National Support the Troops Day, they are showing their ignorance of Armed Forces Day. According to the defenselink website, "President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.

On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department -- the Department of Defense."

The House of Representatives has once again made fools of themselves.
