Well, I haven’t played tag in years but it seems “I’m It.” Some Soldier’s Mom has tagged me with instructions to post about 5 Weird Habits of mine. My immediate response of course, is that I don’t have any weird habits. Then the lovely and talented and downright sexy Mrs. Hook laughed and started rattling off much more than 5 of ‘em. I also made the mistake of asking my band of pirates if they thought I had any weird habits, the list is still growing. So, here are my “top” 5 Weird Habits.

5. I always hold the car door open for the lovely and talented and downright sexy Mrs. Hook.

4. I play “rhyme time” with my merry band of swashbucklers. (A rhyming game where one starts a sentence like, “look at the sky so blue,” and a pirate will respond with, “and the bird that flew,” next pirate, “I heard a cow moo.” etc.) They laugh at me, but they love it.

3. I wear the same outfit everyday for work (I have multiple sets).

2. I get up at 0430 each morning, even if I don’t have to.

And my number one weird habit is…

1. I do most of my reading in the latrine (bathroom for you civilian and Air Force types).

Part II of this assignment is to tag 5 others with it. Sorry folks, you’ve been tagged…

Not that I think you have any weird habits. Sgt Hook out.

  2. I must be really weird, because I don’t find any of those things weird except for the getting up at 0430 part. LOL!

  3. Weird? Moi?

Sgt. Hook got in on the action and tagged me too. So, here goes nothing…

  4. I generally make it a policy not to argue with a military man but this time I have to make an exception: your number 5 weird habit is just old fashioned manners, atleast in my book.

As for reading in the latrine, how do you get the computer in there?

    Merry Christmas!

  5. Agree with Retread. In fact, #5 is a charming habit that is all too rare.

Frankly, this list makes me wonder about the rest on your list. Methinks it may be a bit edited. Or else the lovely and talented Mrs and the pirates are very fortunate indeed!

  6. You knew I was weird, but just not how weird. Now you know….

  7. Five Weird Habits

Well, I have been tagged by both Sgt. Hook and Teresa, so here is a short and sweet version: 5. When rinsing items, I have a tendency to rinse three times. No idea where that came from… 4. When wanting…

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book. -Ernest Hemingway

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
