(She made us do it... not that we wanted to. Blech. Kind of depressing thinking of the future in that way.) Anyway, we found a pin of my Great Grand-mother's that said 'US Navy' on the top and then there was a small chain with another small pin that had two red stars. She had two sons serving in WWII in the Navy, one star for each son, and she wore that pin every day as did all the other mothers. Our country doesn't do stuff like that anymore. I wish we did.
