Home

Is where the heart is. Home is also for what a soldier longs. Home is what we fight for, worry about, dream of, and anticipate returning to. Though often serving in far off lands in defense of the home, the soldier finds comfort in the knowledge that their family, friends, and loved ones are all home safe. Home is that porch light that stays on all night serving as a beacon in a storm. I’m home. More to follow. Sgt Hook out.

  16. As much as you dream of home, home isn’t complete until the soldier is hogging the couch, eating cookies in bed and making the kids laugh.

    Welcome home.

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
