Excellent Point

Always a favorite read, The Laughing Wolf brings up an excellent point regarding our upcoming elections. Not to scare anyone, but given the recent noise from Al Qaeda, or even Al Qaeda wannabees, we should all remember that there is a very large group of folks out there who have sworn an oath to Allah promising to kill Americans, ALL Americans.

“The magnitude and ferocity of what is coming your way will make you forget all about September 11th. … After decades of American tyranny and oppression, now it’s your turn to die. Allah willing, the streets of America will run red with blood, matching drop for drop the blood of America’s victims,” the man, calling himself “Azzam the American,” says on the tape.

Whether this tape pans out to be authentic or not, let it serve as a reminder to us all that we’re on a hit list for nothing more than the fact that we have a right to vote, to voice our opinions, to choose our leaders so let’s not disappoint our enemies, let’s all get out there in a show of force and vote our convictions as Americans. The enemy’s weapon of choice is fear, our strongest weapon is courage, what’s it gonna be?

After witnessing the Afghan elections, I can honestly say that I’d walk through falling mortars, bomb craters, burning wreckage, and gunfire to cast my vote. It is a very powerful weapon. This We’ll Defend. Sgt Hook out.

  1. Hook - what people seem to forget is Islamic terrorists have been at war with us since at least 1979 and we didn’t take it seriously until Sept. 12, 2001. They never needed a rallying call based on who our President is - they killed us regardless of who was in office. They’ve had no problem recruiting people to kill us for over 20 years. The AQ tape is chilling - but I think it comes off as a fake (only because the guy speaks perfect english) - he doesn’t fit our stereotype (fomred by the media) at how AQ tapes should look and sound. Regardless - living in NJ - I know the threat is real. Americans are too smart and fighting mad to roll over. And if for some reason we do - I’m moving to Kabul.

  2. I’m a old lady so I can’t enlist, but I’ll defend our country and our military with my vote and voice. No amount of armchair couching will undo the attack and I don’t practice changing boats in the middle of the stream. We stand committed, and will not be distracted from our goal: PEACE ON EARTH. God continue to bless America and our soldiers I pray. “Let’s Roll”.

  3. hook, while i love your writing and agree normally with what you have to say, but you are misguided if you think the reason they want to “kill” us is because we are free and have the right to vote and etc…. we feel that we are the big man on campus, and we’ve gone to exellent lengths to prove that. if this world had an eye for an eye policy, we would have been nuked years ago. how many children in iraq have dead parents because of us now? these children are going to grow up hating us, and swearing to their own oath to exterminate us. america, think of the consequences of our actions. they may not be immediate, and hell, it may take 40 years for it to all come back around to us, but they DO have their reasons, and it is far more complicated than the fact that they “don’t like freedom.” Has the armed forces brainwashed you?

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book. -Ernest Hemingway

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
