We may have been sucker punched three years ago, left burned and tattered, but nothing that a few patriotic stitches couldn’t repair and our resolve to not forget those who have sacrificed so much will forever keep me focused on the fact that we didn’t pick this fight, but we’re damn sure gonna win it. Good to read you, especially on this day.

My hearfelt thanks for:
- inspiring me to write again,
- for being a repository of my late-nite comments on nights when I either couldn’t sleep because of the nightmares or the insomnia

Really miss you !! 911 was a wound to my heart,as it was to most of America. I’m from the metro Ny area and the towers were in my view from my home and to look at the skyline without them continually reminded me of that morning.We live in Florida now to be near my family but the hurt will never go away.I thank our Commander in Chief for being steadfast and I thank ALL of our dedicated service members for a very difficult and dangerous job they have before them, risking their lives, for their sacrifices and I also thank their families for what they are going through.
I ask God to place a hedge of protecion around all of you, I ask that He keep you safe and always in His sight.I ask that He may bless you all and may God Bless America.

I Got a comment from a Canadian named Leap-Frog. He wanted me to pass this around the military:

I’m not American, but I’d like to personally thank you and all the coalition forces. No one wants to go to war, but sometimes you are left with no choice but to do so.
I do feel bad that my country, your northern neighbour, bailed out, using the UN as an excuse! Even though we have but a small military force the moral and political support would have been better than siding with the likes of France and others.
I’ve lost confidence in my governments leadership ability, and lack of vision on the global picture!

When my 3yr old sees a soldier in uniform he claps and yells “The Soldiers Are Home! The Soldiers Are Home!”….his uncle came home safely after a year in Iraq and the homecoming cheers have stayed in his big-little heart and mind ever since. Something about a patriotic child that tugs at the heart…..

U.S. warplanes were sent into action in eastern Afghanistan early on Sunday after U.S. ground positions came under rocket attack, a military spokesman said.

Colonel Roger King told Reuters by telephone from Bagram Air Base, just north of the capital Kabul, that three rockets were fired from high ground, with one landing within 100 meters (yards) of a forward U.S. position.
U.S. special forces troops who saw the firing called in close air support, and A-10 attack aircraft moved in and strafed the position from where the rockets were fired with machinegun fire and small rockets.
There was no immediate report of casualties from the air strike near Asadabad in Kunar province, close to the Pakistan border.
Hundreds of U.S. soldiers are taking part in a new operation in southeastern Afghanistan searching for remnants of Afghanistan’s ousted Taliban militia and the al Qaeda network it sheltered.
The operation has so far involved mainly the discovery of weapons caches and a small number of arrests.
The United States and its allies have been repeatedly frustrated by the apparent ability of al Qaeda and Taliban members to hide in rugged mountains, blend into the local population or flee across the porous border into neighboring Pakistan.
