Duty, Honor, Country, Blog

Michelle Malkin points to a list of prominent politicians and media figures who have served in our nation’s military service. The list includes bloggers, well one blogger, Kos which strikes me as odd because it takes me a week to surf my Milblogs ring.

It struck Jeff Quinton, the Backcountry Conservative, as odd also and he is now compiling a list of bloggers who have served or are serving in uniform, but he needs your help. Drop on over and let him know when and where you pulled duty. Sgt Hook out.

  6. I served in the Navy from 1952 to 1972 covering Korea, Vietnam, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. After all those years of fighting Communism and the successes of the Reagan years, I am apalled by the apparent successes of communism in this country. In this campaign we have seen many of the old communist tactics being used (i.e., tell a big enough lie often enough, widely enough and loudly enough and people will believe; pit class against class, etc.). Take a look at the web site of the American Communist Party (cpusa.org) and see who the Communists want to win!

  7. Sgt. Hook:

    Re: “Beauty” Honor, Country

FYI, I wrote an article titled, “Duty, Honor, Country” in the West Los Angeles Business Monthly, regarding the blasphemous word change at the Veterans Property in West Los Angeles. A local non-profit group donated a couple million dollars to build a “Landmark Gateway Plaza” that was supposed to be dedicated for our Veterans. They hood-winked the VA into engraving and posting bronzed letters that say: “Beauty, Honor, Country.” They’re refusing to change it to “Duty, Honor, Country.”

You can go to info@westlachamber.org and look under July newspaper for the article and photo. I will also send you the article and photos if you would like. This is a mounting story and the Los Angeles Times is supposedly writing an aricle sometime soon as they have read my story and interviewed me last week.

Please respond as we are organizing Veterans and non-Veterans that are outraged over this irresponsible and blasphemous attack on the Military’s most sacred creed.

You can reach me at my e-mail, RLRosebrock1@aol.com or by phone 310-472-2717.

    Sincerely,
    Robert L. Rosebrock
    U.S. Army Veteran

In view of a recent tendency to identify characters in fiction with real people, it seems proper to state that there are no real people in this volume: both the characters and their names are ficticious. The names or designations of any military units are ficticious. There are no living people nor existing military units presented in this book. -Ernest Hemingway

Fiddler's Green

Halfway down the road to hell,
In a shady meadow green,
Are the souls of all dead troopers camped
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddler's Green.
